On January 16, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the first batch of new products declared in the "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products Announcement", which is also the first batch of finalists this year. Compared with the first batch of lists a year ago, from the announcements of these two years, Xiaobian summarized the changes in the battery supporting situation of different types of vehicles for new energy in the form of charts and analyzed the future development direction of power batteries.

New energy vehicle product type

In 2017, a total of 185 new energy models were selected as the power battery for the first batch of new energy vehicle promotion and application models. Among them are 73 new energy passenger vehicles, 36 new energy logistics vehicles, and 76 new energy passenger vehicles.

On January 16, 2018, among the first batch of new products declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to declare in the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products”, a total of 167 new energy vehicle products were shortlisted. Among them, there are 36 new energy passenger vehicle products, 65 new energy passenger vehicle products, and 66 new energy special vehicle products.

As can be seen from the above figure, in terms of the total number of new energy vehicle products, passenger cars and passenger cars, the number has decreased compared to the first batch last year; and in terms of new energy logistics vehicles, the number has increased significantly. It is not difficult to see from the data that the market favors the new energy logistics vehicle segment.

Supporting situation of different battery types

In terms of battery category matching, in 2017, lithium iron phosphate and ternary batteries were the mainstream, which together accounted for 66%; lithium manganate batteries accounted for 23%; unlabeled lithium ion batteries accounted for 7%; Fuel cell models account for 1%; supercapacitor batteries account for 3%.

In 2018, the battery category is still supported by lithium iron phosphate, with 94 models, accounting for 56%; 47 ternary batteries, accounting for 28%; 8 lithium manganate batteries, accounting for 5%; unspecified type There are 10 models of lithium-ion batteries, accounting for 6%; 5 models of fuel cell vehicles, accounting for 3%; and multiple hybrid batteries, only 3 models, accounting for 2%.

Overall, from last year to this year, lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium still dominated the mainstream. The difference is that among the first batch of battery packages announced this year, lithium iron phosphate accounted for a relatively high proportion, while the proportion of ternary lithium batteries declined. .

New energy passenger car

Specifically, in terms of new energy passenger cars, in 2017, the first batch of 73 new energy passenger cars that were announced for supporting battery types, lithium iron phosphate accounted for 67%, the largest proportion. Ternary lithium batteries accounted for 23%, and the rest were unlabeled lithium-ion batteries.

According to the data of the first batch of 36 new energy passenger vehicles supporting battery types announced in 2018, 25 yuan in three models accounted for 69%; the largest proportion. 2 types of lithium iron phosphate, 1 multi-component compound, 8 types of lithium ion are not marked.

Comparing the data of the two graphs, we can find that the battery supporting situation of new energy passenger cars has changed significantly in 2018. The proportion of lithium iron phosphate has been greatly reduced, and ternary lithium batteries have become the mainstream choice for supporting new energy passenger cars.

New energy bus

2017The supporting battery types of new energy buses in 2017 are mainly lithium iron phosphate and lithium manganate, which accounted for 46% and 40% respectively, accounting for most of the new energy buses. Super capacitors and fuel cells have also become new options for new energy buses.

Among the supporting battery types in 2018, lithium iron phosphate is still the leader in the field of new energy buses, with 58 of 65 new energy buses supporting, accounting for up to 89.2%.

Data show that last year, lithium manganate batteries, which accounted for 40%, were significantly reduced in new energy buses. In the results of the first batch of data published in 2018, it is clear that lithium iron phosphate batteries have become the main choice for new energy buses. Compared with passenger cars, new energy buses have more space and can carry more batteries. Therefore, the requirements for battery energy density are not high, and safety is more important. Therefore, it is reasonable for manufacturers to adopt mature lithium iron phosphate batteries as the mainstream choice.

New energy vehicle

In 2017, the first batch of 36 models of new energy special-purpose vehicles were announced with 5 lithium iron phosphate batteries, accounting for 14%; 21 ternary batteries, accounting for 58%; 9 lithium manganates, accounting for 25%, , Unlabeled type 1 lithium ion.

Among the first batch of 66 models of new energy special-purpose vehicles announced in 2018, 34 lithium iron phosphates accounted for 51.5%; 22 ternary batteries accounted for 33.3%; 4 lithium manganates and 2 multiple composites. Unlabeled 2 types of lithium ion, 2 hydrogen fuel cells are provided by Anhui Yizhidian Energy Technology Co., Ltd.

On the whole, the number of new energy logistics vehicles in 2018 is much higher than last year's. The number of new energy logistics vehicles in 2018 is mainly equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, while the number of ternary batteries is basically unchanged. It is worth mentioning that Fuel cells have been added to the vehicle as a source of power.
